The small and very cozy café is located in the idyllic Nauen district of Ribbeck in the Havelland district in Brandenburg, opposite the famous Ribbeck Castle. Here you can get very good pear cakes, small dishes and good coffee. Those who love pears can buy pear schnapps, pear liqueur, pear jam and books with the poem by Theodor Fontane. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of everyday school life for a moment, you can do so too. Because the cafe isn't called the Old School for nothing. The Corona rules are strictly observed here. At the moment there is cake and coffee to take away. The service is very friendly. Parking spaces are available nearby for a fee. Very cute cafe with a great location. Selection of food and drinks was great. The pear cake or the apple strudel, incredibly delicious! We were already over the closing time, a little earlier due to Corona, but the two ladies in the café were very relaxed and even got an order ready for us even though we were almost 1 hour over the closing. We were just surprised because the internet had different opening times. The café is highly recommended and we will be back. You have to see the old school and its history.

The pear and nut cake was a blast! And the pear wine was also very tasty. The interior is lovingly designed. Very pleasant atmosphere.

In the old village school today is a cozy cafe. Potato pancakes with pear sauce are especially tasty. We are from Hannover and want a lot of cycling here.

I arrived in the café at 15:46 and was intentionally left unattended by the operators for more than 20 minutes. I did not know and was not informed that the café closes at 4pm, but would have had a cup of coffee anyway, so it would not jeopardize the closing time. Unfortunately, I can not give a positive rating for this reason.

Yes, that's just the Brandenburg charm. A little slow and deliberation ... but that can also be down ... everything has to go "fast, fast" like in nearby Berlin. I do not think so. We were fine, if not fast served. The cakes and pies were delicious ... There was nothing to complain about ....

Unfortunately, very impossible and unfriendly service staff. We would have loved to have a coffee and a piece of cake here. Unfortunately we weren't given a table at 4 p.m. although the cafe didn't close until 5 p.m. When we asked if we could have a quick coffee, we were replied sluggishly that you don't have to "justify" yourself to us. Someone didn't feel like working anymore. Instead, I recommend the nice café behind the church, where we were served extremely nice and friendly.

We were in Ribbeck on a Monday morning and while you're there, I wanted to see the pear tree too. We really liked the Cafe “Alte Schule”. We sat outside, drank delicious coffee and ate cake. I had "Pear-Helene-Torte" and my companion "Werderaner apple cake". Everything tasted great. The service was friendly. The toilets were clean. Books, honey, etc. are also sold in the “old school”. We'll be back anyway.
